Jonny Olsen is a Canadian artist, photographer and drummer who strives to embody colour, movement and fun in all his paintings
, photographs and drumming shows. He calls this style 'decorative movemetism'. Within this style Jonny uses many themes such as cityscapes, abstract, landscapes and realism.
Jonny's unique art first became known when he had an ongoing exhibit at a little bar in downtown Ottawa called the Elbow Room, but he eventually became even
more known when his murals starting popping up in various downtown Ottawa locations..
While Jonny has his degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, he spent every elective in
Canadaian Studies, World Music or Fine Arts, learning how to perfect his artistic talents. Jonny lives in Ottawa and performs with his well known group Junkyard Symphony and his own
drumming show, the Jonny O Show, but when he is not performing, he is painting or undertaking an artistic project of some sort. Jonny's favourite subject to paint is cityscapes, but he loves many styles
and is available for commissioned work and so have a look through the site and enjoy!
